Growing up in Panama City, Florida, I am used to seeing Motorcycle Gangs riding around town. I have always wondered what the rules and consequences were for being in one of them, because of this I have chosen the Infidels Motorcycle Club. In popular culture, Motorcycle Clubs have always had a negative connotation due to their violent and intimidating natures. Stereotypically, Motorcycle Clubs exploit jackets, guns, and women in order to personify themselves as masculine and powerful gangs. Hollywood has a tendency to convey the more gang like aspect of motorcycle clubs. For example, in the show “Sons of Anarchy”, the Motorcycle Clubs are all involved in drugs and gun trafficking, however the show also displays the more personal lives of the gang members through their family and friendship relationships. It shows they also have a strong community and brotherhood. The way the show portrays the various aspects of the Clubs sparked my interest in what Motorcycle Clubs are genuinely like in real life. My purpose for the blog is to show that there are some motorcycle clubs that do not fit this stigma of “violence.” My proof is through the Infidels Motorcycle club.
