One of the first Motorcycle Clubs started in New York. It joined with another club to make the American Motorcyclist Association. Many clubs began to form and stayed under this organization or rebelled and went their own way. The ones that rebelled began to be known as "outlaws" because they were involved in illegal activity. Nowdays there are many clubs such for different purposes. These range from brands such as Harley Owners Group to religious such as the Christian Motorcyclists Association.
